Harry walked down the hallway, clutching a large pile of colorful fliers in his left hand. He and Hermione were currently the only students who had showed interest in the group that Hermione had created, SPEW. The Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare was designed to support out House Elves who were used as slaves and treated viciously. Harry taped up a sign about every ten yards using a sticking charm he had learned in his Charms class many years back. It was going well for awhile, but then his left arm started to get tired from the unusually heavy stack of papers. To make matters worse, a few minutes later the papers spilled all over the hallway. They had been slipping for awhile, but they had finally managed to squirm out of his grip. "Great..." he sighed, bending down to pick them up.
Hermione helped collect the sheets, and handed them back to Harry. "This is so exciting, we're sure to get a bunch of prospective members before the meeting on Monday!"
Harry took the posters back from Hermione and gave her a smile to show his agreeance. "Hermione...how do we know that this group will be able to do any good for Elfish Welfare?" he asked, reading the words 'Elfish Welfare' from the poster, like he'd never heard it before. "I don't think very many students are going to be anxious to join when they actually hear that your trying to free house elves...lot's of people use them around the house, you know..." Harry explained. Hermione was his best friend and he was going to go about this with her, but he didn't tihnk very many other students would be too keen on the idea of going around setting people's house elves free.
Hermione's cheeks flushed red: "It's slavery! If a house-elf chooses to spend they're time working then all right, but none of the house-elves currently 'employed' ever had a choice. In this modern society we shouldn't diminish the value of anyone's life, and it's stupid that this had been allowed to continue up until now."
